Rapid Electronics 100g reel of high grade 22SWG Lead-free solder wire containing 99.3% Tin and 0.7% Copper, making it a better choice for the environment. The diameter of the solder is 22SWG or 0.7mm, with an approximate length of 35 meters.

This very high quality solder flows smoothly owing to the rosin flux core, provides excellent solder joint reliability, superior joint strength and excellent thermal and mechanical fatigue resistance. It has a rosin-activated flux core which requires little cleaning after making the solder joint. It is ideal for use in applications requiring good activation, and is ideal for no-clean processes therefore negating the need to clean the flux residue after soldering.

We have made the switch over to Lead-free for most of our soldering activities, and is now used in our own workshop on a daily basis. It has proven to be completely reliable so far with the only real requirement being to ensure the solder tip is kept clean, enabling us to produce bright, shiny and solid solder joints.

Please note: This product contains rosin. It is recommended that fume extraction is employed when using lead/lead-free and rosin based solder.

We recommend that schools use lead-free solder for all projects.
